We are moving shares of Baker Hughes (BKR) to a Sell. The shares have surged above our previously raised 31 price target (originally 23). Using optimistic yet realistic assumptions, we are hard-pressed to justify a BKR share price meaningfully above the current price.

Here is a special update on two of our stocks.

Sell ARIS and Half of SPT

In this week’s video, Mike Cintolo talks about the market’s under-the-surface improvement that he’s seeing; no indicators have changed, which will need to happen for him to extend his line in a big way, but there’s no question most stuff has seen improvement and more stocks are beginning to act properly. Mike did a little buying this week and is hoping to add more should the market be able to build on the recent action.

The market has softened over the past week, and we’ve seen some high-volume selling in former leading stocks, so I’m now pulling back a bit on risk, which is one reason today’s recommendation is a low-risk utility stock.
Technically part of the Safe Income portfolio of Cabot Dividend Investor, this stock pays a healthy 2.6% yield and it has decent upside potential as well.
As for the current portfolio, we still have some stocks hitting new highs, but we’ve also got some showing renewed weakness, so today I have two sell recommendations. Details in the issue.
