Technical Analysis 101: Using Earnings with Charts and Screeners

Join Kate Stalter as she breaks down how to include earnings with charts and stock screeners to support technical buy decisions.

In today’s video, Kate Stalter discusses including data around earnings with charts and stock screeners. She then breaks down recent earnings history and the technical charts of Restoration Hardware (RH) and Fortinet (FTNT), two companies that were beneficiaries of the housing and cybersecurity booms, respectively.

Kate continues by discussing the importance of integrating fundamentals into your research and emphasizes the value of focusing on companies with double-digit earnings and revenue growth. Kate also cautions not to rely too heavily on historical data or projections that are too far out and explains why double-digit revenue growth is a key supporter of earnings growth. Kate goes on to show how you can get earnings data for free and ends with a reminder that analyst data is typically created with institutional investors (the big buyers) in mind.

The stocks referenced in this video are for educational purposes only and should not be considered buy recommendations.
