Not much has changed in our portfolio, though Home Depot (HD) did report solid earnings on Tuesday.

The Emerging Markets Timer is still pointed up, but it’s clearly seen some selling volume over the last week. So while we’re still bullish, we’re not looking to push for further exposure at this point. The only change in the portfolio is the sale of Telkom Indonesia (TLK) that we recommended in a Special Bulletin on Wednesday.

The rebound in emerging market stocks has given us a new buy signal. We’re going to complete our position in Weibo (WB) by buying another half position, and take a full position in NetEase (NTES).

The market has been holding up well, and small caps in particular are looking steadfast as we move into the second half of August.

Ulta Beauty (ULTA) has likely formed an intermediate-term top after sinking on earnings during the past three days.

Remain bullish. The market is in good shape, and we’re starting to see some growth stocks reassert themselves. There are still some potholes out there, but we believe you should remain heavily invested. In the Model Portfolio, we sold Five Below (FIVE) on a Special Bulletin yesterday, replacing it with GrubHub (GRUB), and today, we’re placing Facebook (FB) back on Buy.

PFSweb (PFSW) reported a better-than-expected quarter with revenue up 22%. Let’s keep it at Hold until we can assess the stock’s reaction

Nobody has missed their chance to buy low and catch a long overdue run-up in some great stocks. There are lots of great opportunities listed in this week’s update.

This morning, Janet Yellen seemed to indicate (like many Fed speakers in recent days) that a rate hike next month is on the table. But the market doesn’t seem to mind, with the major indexes flat-ish in volatile trading.

Tonight, we’re going to sell Amazon (AMZN), which doesn’t look awful but hasn’t been able to get going during the past couple of months. We’ll sell at about breakeven and hold the cash. We’ll also place Abiomed (ABMD) on Hold

Today we’re going to add two new stocks to the Model Portfolio: Abiomed (ABMD) and Dave & Buster’s (PLAY)

It looks like one of our stocks may be falling prey to a change in regulatory action by the Chinese government. Sell Yirendai (YRD).

We will place ProShares S&P 500 Ultra Fund (SSO) on Hold to respect the message from our Tides.

As an options trader, I’m biased to using options versus buying stock when putting on positions.

In today’s Update, we’ll sell the BulletShares 2016 High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (BSJG), which is maturing at the end of the year, and replace it with the BulletShares 2020 High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (BSJK), which yields significantly more.

E*Trade Financial (ETFC) reported blowout earnings yesterday afternoon.

Two of our stocks—Reynolds American (RAI) and U.S. Bancorp (USB)—reported earnings this morning (details are below). So far, earnings season is off to a good start, with the big banks and Netflix (NFLX) beating estimates in recent days.

Most of our stocks have spent the past week either pulling back or trading sideways, providing a good opportunity for members who are underinvested to start new positions. We’re putting Wynn Resorts (WYNN) back on Buy today after the company wowed investors with plans for a new resort last week.

We have a few nuggets of news this week. And in two weeks, earnings season will kick in with three of our software stocks reporting. There are no ratings changes this week. And we should tip our hats to PFSweb (PFSW), which earned top gun honors with its 15% rally.

We’re sticking with our lean-bullish stance. Be sure to honor your stops and loss limits, and don’t forget to take partial profits if you get a good-sized profit over a couple of weeks. (Some commodity stocks fill that bill today) But you should hold your top performers and even look to put some money to work on this weakness.
