Entravision Communications Corp. (EVC,Weiss Ratings A-) is a diversified media company servicing Latino audiences and communities with its 58 primary television stations, including 20 of the nation’s top 50 Latino markets. Its shares recently shot up after the company announced that its board approved the extension of its share-repurchase program announced in August 2014 with a repurchase authorization of up to an additional $10 million of the company’s common stock, for a total repurchase authorization of up to $20 million.
Walter F. Ulloa, chairman and chief executive, said, “We are committed to returning value to our shareholders through our dividend and repurchase programs and remain well-positioned to execute on our strategic plan and drive long-term value creation.”
Earlier this month, the company reported financial results for the third-quarter ended Sept. 30. Net profit was 9 cents a share, which matched expectations. Revenue of $62.3 million beat the forecast of $61.2 million.
