Crista has updates on several portfolio stocks.

Today’s news:

Broadcom (AVGO) gets big Apple (AAPL) contracts.
• Trading notes on LGI Homes (LGIH).
• Dividend increase at Valero Energy (VLO).
Cabot’s 10 Best Stocks to Buy and Hold for 2020.

avgo

In news after yesterday’s market close, Broadcom (AVGO – yield 3.9%) announced that they have received up to $15 billion in contracts to supply iPhone parts to Apple (AAPL) over the next 3.5 years. The stock rose to a new all-time high of 330 in pre-market trading today. Nobody has missed their chance to make money with AVGO. The stock has just begun to surpass previous price resistance dating back to April 2019. I continue to recommend that traders, growth investors and dividend investors buy AVGO. Strong Buy.

If you bought LGI Homes (LGIH) for a short-term trade, my suggestion is to put in a sell limit gtc order at 87. It’s possible that the stock could reach that price in a few short days, if the market remains somewhat bullish. At 87-88, the stock will have reached short-term price resistance after having risen 26% since mid-December. I don’t expect LGIH to rise any higher after reaching 87 until it rests for quite a well. Hold.

Meanwhile, Valero Energy (VLO) raised their quarterly dividend from 90 cents to 98 cents. The current yield is 4.4%. (VLO is not currently part of the Cabot Undervalued Stocks Advisor portfolios. However, many investors own this stock.)

In early January, all subscribers to Cabot Undervalued Stocks Advisor received my publication, Cabot’s 10 Best Stocks to Buy and Hold for 2020. Some of those stocks are already moving rapidly. If you have an occasional question about one of those stocks, feel free to send inquiries to Crista@CabotWealth.com. (Please don’t ask “which one should I buy” because that requires me asking a bunch of questions about your personal investment strategy and risk tolerance, and then re-analyzing all 10 stocks for their most current situations. However, I can quickly answer simple questions about financial outlook, specific news stories and price chart activity.)
