This month’s Cabot Small-Cap Confidential investment candidate is Pixelworks (PXLW), the manufacturer of the leading display technology for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. In fact, Apple currently holds a 10% position in Pixelworks and uses its technology in the iPhone. There’s speculation that Apple could buy out Pixelworks to firm up its competitive position against Samsung, which owns its own display technology. There’s also been a recent report linking Pixelworks to Amazon’s new Fire Phone.
