WCM Focused International Growth Inv (WCMRX) invests in a small number of companies with strong growth that the fund’s analysts believe is likely to continue for years. It recently owned 33 stocks and had turnover of only 21%.
The fund looks for companies with low or no debt and management that instills a culture of long-term growth instead of focusing on the short term.
It also wants a company to benefit from at least one key global trend, such as the growing middle class, increased use of technology and globalization.
A company also should have some unique protections, or moats, including legal or regulatory hurdles, difficulty for customers to change suppliers and economies of scale.
