CCJ was recommended by Personal Finance at $29.34 in Investment Digest issue 681, dated October 20, 2010.
“Cameco Corp (CCJ, $19) — Raw materials and energy are two sectors with a great long-term outlook, as developing Asia consumes more of everything from oil to fertilizer. The near-term view, however, is a bit cloudier as China’s growth slows, Europe remains mired in recession and the U.S. faces political uncertainty. That makes now a good time to pare back a few positions in these sectors. ...
“Global nuclear power capacity will grow 26.8% by 2050, even under the assumption that Germany and Japan shut down all of their plants and the U.S. builds only a handful. That’s still plenty to fuel long-term demand for Cameco’s uranium, as it builds out its mines. Near-term pressure on nuclear, however, is decidedly negative. Sell Cameco Corp.”
